I attended A and E at short notice. Although the waiting time was forecast at 2-3 hrs, I started being seen after 1 hr. Staff were courteous and very efficient. Got the impression of being well-staffed even if space to work at a premium. After thorough examination moved to AAU for more tests and overnight stay. Treated very well and efficiently. Nurses/Dr./ consultant all very professional and timely.

Given how overloaded the ward was I was treated well. There was one incident I was not happy about due to the way in which I was moved from one location to another without any explanation hence the rating of 3 for dignity and respect. That said, I didn't have to wait long for a bed and had an excellent surgeon (Mr. Make).

Review of AAU 3 Yellow and Blue - 0522 written by a patient

All the staff were really helpful, compassionate and communicated with me regularly throughout my short stay. I had no problems at all in any area of my care. Nothing was too much trouble. If I needed or wanted anything done, it was no problem.

The ward was overcrowded, the corridor was used as a kitchen, the noise and smell of food after the operation was nauseating, could not sleep / rest with the traffic in the ward and corridor. I pray I never have to experience that. I was glad I was sent home when I requested it. The hospital is over worked with primitive facilities Sorry to be negative, Having said that The doctor and the speciality nurse were great.

My name is Dahlia Merchant and I was seen by Dr Shilpan Patel with assistant Maria Carvalho. I was greeted by Maria with a friendly smile on time she help me to relax as i was anxious she talked to while she got things and help me to get ready for my procedure. Dr Shelpan Patel came in the room when i was ready with a welcoming smile and while he was carrying out the procedure he spoke to me to get my mind of it. I was very stress when i enter the room but i left with a big smile and lighter heart. With doctor like Shilpan and assistant like Maria the hospital will survive. We need people in the care setting like these two individual, I would recommend the hospital because of them.

Have visited the hospital on several occasions for treatment of a large kidney stone. On every occasion I was seen promptly and received excellent care from all staff. The hospital is obviously not large enough for the area it has to cover but the staff do an amazing job.

My midwife and the others I have seen whilst mine was away have been amazing. I have felt more than comfortable asking all the questions I have had, appointments have always been on time and i have been very lucky that I can see my midwife so close to where I live which is so helpful. I feel confident that I will be extremely well cared for when I go into labour by this team!

After waiting over a month to have wisdom teeth pulled. I think it’s absolutely disgusting to be told by the maxifacial dept that they LOST my paper work and that’s why I’ve been left over a month with a wisdom tooth growing into my face. When they finally offer me an appointment I turn up and wait over 1 hour and a half to be seen. It’s not good enough. Staff are rude. Not even been given an apology. It’s a dam disgrace. Losing people’s paper work is disgusting. It’s a hospital where people get sick. Thankfully mine was just for a wisdom tooth. Feel sorry for anyone who’s actually fighting any kind of disease. I would demand to be treated in another hospital.

I was admitted to Ridge Ward on 11th August following a fall and had to have a total hip replacement on that day. I cannot praise all of the staff and doctors enough. My Surgeon was Mr Ben Spiegelberg and my anaesthetist was Dr. R. Makker who were absolutely fantastic and really put me at ease. The staff on the ward were also fantastic, they were kind, reassuring and really helpful. I couldn’t praise them enough. They work really hard and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for making my stay in hospital comfortable and relaxed. Mrs. Sandra Bedford.
